The purity of the metal surfaces of blasting media and of the blasted work piece is practically the same. The blasting media can therefore be used to monitor the blasting process. The water penetration test makes this clear. New blasting shot and grit is free of grease and oil - the water immediately penetrates into the abrasive. The operating mix shown for a blasting system is oily -- the penetration of water is delayed or the water does not penetrate at all. Wetting the already blasted work piece with water also shows the same effect: The water still forms droplets. Oily and greasy. The result: Faulty adhesion between the coating and the metal surface. PantaTec ULTIMATE is the answer.
Oily and sticky blasting media are immediately de-greased with the addition of PantaTec ULTIMATE and their cleaning capability is recovered. This test impressively demonstrates the capabilities of PantaTec. And even an oily work piece again becomes dry and grease-free after treatment with the blasting media additive.
With the use of PantaTec ULTIMATE the blasting media remains free of oil and grease and retains its cleaning capability. The sample taken from the air separator illustrates this. The blasting media additive from PantaTec cleans the abrasive of oils, greases, oily process materials, release agents, etc. Costly degreasing processes before or after blasting, such as washing and drying, are eliminated or their extent at least reduced.
PantaTec ULTIMATE is added manually, directly into the screw conveyor of the blasting system or with the aid of a metering and pre-mixing unit. In normal operation 0.5 to 1 litre of blasting media additive per wheel and blasting hour is added.
Water forms droplets on an oily, non-cleaned work piece. The consequence of insufficiently cleaned surfaces: Faulty adhesion of the surface coating. PantaTec ULTIMATE is the answer for a problem-free blasting process. Blast cleaning of sheet metal with PanTec ULTIMATE enables the required wettability of the surface -- the surface can then even be wet with water. The result: The work piece is free of oil and grease without the need for washing. After only a short time it already rusts.
The PantaTec method simplifies the surface preparation for corrosion protection coatings and so makes them considerably more cost-efficient. Blasting without pre-cleaning (washing and drying), even for coating with suitable paint systems directly afterwards, can be carried out easily. An automatic dosage device continuously adds a physically active additive to the blasting abrasive. It binds greases and oils and removes them from the process via the conventional dust extraction unit. This cuts down on the use of solvents and cleaners and lowers your energy consumption. Considerable cost reductions and simultaneous quality advantages make this method very attractive for many users of blasting systems.
